Okay so I am not an Astro Boy fan. I watched enough of it to learn some basic plot stuff but the little boy with the obnoxious voice running around wearing only underwear and boots was just too much for me.

So then the preview came out and I was like, 'Oh, no...Astro Boy....' but then he was walking around with clothes on! And! HE WAS EFFIN ADORABLE!!! He was cute enough that I could ignore his partial nudity! Still I didn't plan on going to see it until (in the preview) he started talking! HE HAS A CUTE VOICE!!! Suddenly I wanted to see it! And...

I saw it. Just a few minutes ago actually.

I wanna see it agaaaaaaaain. If you like cute little robots going around kicking ass and taking names THIS IS A GOOD MOVIE FOR YOU.

Now: SPOILERS ALERT (ESPECIALLY FOR THOSE WHO DON'T KNOW THE ASTRO BOY STORY LINE)!

I totally forgot until about fifteen minutes into the movie that Astro was built to kinda replace Dr. Tenma's son. This cute little boy (dubbed 'Toby' was walking around on screen being charming and smart and then I realized he wasn't Astro boy- he was original boy! I turned to my friend and said 'This is going to be sad!' Of course she had never watched Astro boy so she didn't know what I was talking about. I almost cried when it happened except that the stupid PG rating messed it up. Original boy was OBLITERATED! So there was no body. Which took a lot of the sadness away. Personally I think its sadder watching a dad cry over his son's body than watching a dad look sad while holding his son's hat.... >.> but that's just me.... Still it was like 'Jesus Christ that boy just DIED! He was OBLITERATED! YOU CAN'T REPLACE HIM DR. TENMA!!' Poor Toby.

On another note if I were Toby and I came back from the dead I would be PISSED to see that my dad built a robot me that no matter how you looked at it WASN'T me. For some reason when I watched the series I thought that Astro Boy was like Cyborg from Teen Titans, like he'd been badly hurt and then altered to a robot by his father- I didn't actually know he flat out died. It was kinda upsetting (for me).

So yeah, 17 year old telling you to go see Astro Boy because he's cute and he kicks ass and you just want to huuuuug hiiiiiiiim!
